Good platform, could be faster

I purchased the Full Lab Access to help with my MBA applications. The School Research Database was really useful for narrowing down my options, and the Essay Brainstorming Tool gave me a good starting point. I felt the platform itself was well-structured and easy to navigate. However, I did notice that some pages took a bit longer to load than I'd expect, which was a minor annoyance when I was trying to move quickly between sections. Overall, it was a solid value for what I paid.

Detailed guide for applications

I decided to go with the Full Lab Access for my MBA applications, specifically targeting a few top-tier schools. The platform broke down each section of the application process really well. I started with the Career Goal Mapping which helped me articulate my post-MBA plans, then moved onto the Resume Module which provided actionable feedback points. The Essay Brainstorming Tool was incredibly comprehensive; it guided me through outlining my story and even helped me avoid common pitfalls. For delivery, access was immediate after purchase, which was great. I also used the Mock Interview Practice, which gave me a good sense of what to expect, although the feedback was largely generic. I had a quick question about linking my GMAT Club discount, and customer service responded within a few hours to clarify where to input the code. Everything felt well-supported, and it definitely helped me feel more confident submitting my applications.

Consistent help for apps

This was my third time using ApplicantLab, and it's been consistently helpful. I first used it for my initial MBA applications, then for reapplicant strategy, and most recently for the Executive MBA Module. Each time, the content has been up-to-date and the step-by-step guidance really keeps you on track. I appreciate that they keep adding new modules like the Executive MBA one. The interface hasn't changed much over the years, which is fine, but a slight refresh might be nice eventually. Still, I keep coming back because it's reliable and a lot cheaper than a consultant.

Helped a lot with essays

Got the Full Lab Access for my MBA applications. Honestly, I was pretty lost with the essays before. The Essay Brainstorming Tool walked me through it, which was a big relief. It just made the whole process feel less overwhelming. Glad I used it.

Is ApplicantLab actually helpful for M7 schools or is it more for general MBA apps? Trying to decide if it's worth it for HBS/Stanford.

S Sam J. 2 weeks ago
Totally worth it! They have specific modules for HBS and Stanford. I used it for Booth and got in. It really helps you structure your thoughts for those intense essays.

My friend used it for Wharton and got an interview. It's not a magic bullet, but it definitely guides you to put your best foot forward. Way cheaper than a consultant too.

Hey, wondering if anyone's had luck with a Black Friday deal for ApplicantLab? Or is it mostly referral codes?

J Jacob Parker 3 weeks ago
I think they mostly do referral codes or specific partner promos. Didn't see a Black Friday thing last year when I signed up, but that was a while ago.

Yeah, pretty sure their deals are usually through GMATClub or specific links, not big sitewide sales like that. I got $50 off through a referral.

compared to like, Stacy Blackman or MBAMission, how does ApplicantLab stack up? obviously it's cheaper but is the quality comparable?

A Aaron Hernandez 3 weeks ago
It's different. AL is more like a guided DIY. You do the work, they provide the structure and advice. SBC is full-on consultant hand-holding. If you're disciplined, AL is amazing value.

I used AL because I couldn't afford SBC. I think for the price, it's incredible. You don't get someone editing your essays line-by-line, but the brainstorming and framework for essays is gold. My friend paid thousands for a consultant and I honestly think I got a similar level of insight from AL for a fraction of the cost.

How long do you get access to the platform after you sign up? Is it like a year, or just until your first application cycle is over?

M Mark Hernandez 2 weeks ago
It's a full year from when you purchase. Plenty of time, even if you need to reapply.

Yeah, it's for 12 months. I renewed mine for another year just because I wanted access to some of the career planning stuff after I got in, but you don't have to.
